Emergency Response Officer – Base Titanium Limited

A vacancy for Emergency Response Officer has risen at Base Titanium Limited; the Kenyan subsidiary of the Australian company; Base Resources Limited.

Expected Responsibilities:

• To Conduct Fire audits
• To assist in the development & implementation of all emergency response policies, procedures and inspection schedules
• To ensure that rescue vehicles, emergency equipment and field response inventories are checked weekly and to check operations of all emergency equipment on a weekly basis.
• To ensure that all fire incidents are fully investigated and recorded within the site safety data base in a timely and accurate manner.
• To develop fire awareness training programs for other departments, contractors and the community as required.
• To conduct emergency response, fire awareness and other associated training programs in order to continually develop ERT personnel.
• To ensure that all ERT vehicles are in good state / a state of ready response and are checked on each shift and restored to full service after any usage.

Desired Qualifications/experience:

• 5 years minimum  experience in fire fighting and emergency response related areas
• Current Kenyan heavy truck and car license essential.
• Successful completion of an accredited emergency services training.
• Demonstrable ability to operate a fire tender and pumps including foam systems without supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to build or work in a harmonious team.
• Self-management and supervisory skills (Proven).
• Demonstrable ability to work in challenging environment with a multinational workforce with minimal supervision and high ethical standards.
• Good and demonstrable skills in radio or telephone procedures.
• Be able to write reports and have good computer skills in Word & Excel.
